Bookings
Walk bookings are made via WhatsApp and can be arranged on an ad hoc basis or as a regular weekly booking on set days.
If I have already reached my maximum of six dogs for a walk, I may still be able to accommodate your booking by arranging an additional member of staff. In these circumstances, a small surcharge may apply. I will always discuss this with you before confirming the booking.
Booking confirmation, including your dog's estimated pick-up and drop-off times, will be sent by 7:00 pm on the evening before the scheduled walk.
Off-Lead Exercise
Dogs will only be exercised off lead with the owner's prior consent and where I am confident it is safe and appropriate to do so. Otherwise, dogs will remain on lead or on a long line.
Health
Dogs attending walks must be in good health and free from contagious illness. Owners agree to inform me of any injury, illness or change in their dog's condition before each booking.
Behaviour
Owners must disclose any history of aggression, biting, excessive reactivity or escape behaviour before booking. Pupdates reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services where a dog's behaviour poses a risk to people or other dogs.
Payments & Invoices
Payment is due after the walk or outdoor day care has been completed. Invoices are usually sent every Friday to allow for any additional short-notice bookings made during the week. If you would prefer to pay earlier, simply let me know and I'll send your invoice straight away. Payments can be made via a secure Monzo payment link (no Monzo account required) or by bank transfer. Bank details will be provided before your first booking. A PDF invoice or payment receipt is available on request.
Veterinary Visits
If I need to take your dog to the vet on your behalf, a phone call from you in advance is usually sufficient to authorise treatment and allow me to act on your behalf. In some circumstances, your veterinary practice may require a signed Veterinary Release Form. If needed, this can be sent to you electronically and signed and returned via WhatsApp.
Emergencies
In the event of an emergency, I will act in your dog's best interests and contact you as soon as possible.
As a CPD-accredited Pet First Aid provider, I am able to administer appropriate first aid where necessary until your dog can be safely transferred to a veterinary practice. If urgent veterinary treatment is required, I will transport your dog to your preferred veterinary practice where practical, or to the nearest available veterinary practice if immediate treatment is required.
Lunch, Treats & Medication
Treats used during walks are natural, high-value training treats. If your dog has allergies, dietary requirements or you would simply prefer them to have their own treats, you're very welcome to provide these before their first walk.
I’m also happy to give your dog lunch and administer basic medication, such as tablets or pills, provided you supply them along with any necessary instructions.
Insurance
Pupdates is fully insured for dog walking and outdoor day care. My insurance includes Public Liability, Care, Custody & Control of animals, Non-Negligent Animal Care, and Professional Indemnity whilst your dog is in my care. Dogs are walked in carefully selected groups of no more than six at any one time, in accordance with my insurance policy.
Cancellations
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled service will incur a £10 cancellation fee, payable before your dog's next booking.
Extreme weather
Walks go ahead in most weather conditions. During periods of extreme heat, thunderstorms, high winds or icy conditions, walks may be shortened, adjusted or replaced with more suitable enrichment activities to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every dog.
By booking a walk or outdoor day care service with Pupdates, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
